Roshan's Blog: Grandparents Missing Grandchildren

03/29/2011

After living only a few miles away from our Granddaughter for the first year of her life, she and her parents have recently moved across the state and I miss them all terribly. So what are grandparents supposed to do but get up to speed with technology and that’s what we did.

We downloaded skype and gmail and planned a “date” with our 16 month old granddaughter. Lo and behold after a couple of tries we saw each other on our individual computers. At first there was curiosity and a bewildered look as she could hear our voices and see us on the screen but we were not nearby. Eventually-there it was- a smile of recognition and a “hi” and talking about her bear that we had given her when she left. Yay for technology and the Internet!

Until we meet and share hugs and kisses, regular viewings will keep us smiling and feeling close by.
